Position Summary

The role of Business Development Associate will involve researching, identifying, and prospecting to potential acquisition targets through direct outreach via email, social media, and cold calling. The Business Development Associate will qualify potential candidates and make introductions to BMS CAT’s Acquisition team.


The ideal candidate will be motivated to drive BMS CAT’s growth strategy in acquisitions by gaining a keen understanding of the merger and acquisition (M&A) environment within the Restoration Industry and enhance BMS CAT’s reputation as an acquirer of choice. The ideal candidate should also thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a compelling personality with the ability to excite, inspire and gain trust in the relationship building process.


Essential Functions

  • Familiarize yourself with BMS CAT's vision and mission and seek to accomplish set goals and objectives.
  • Utilize various research methods to identify potential acquisition targets within specified geographic regions meeting certain business & financial criteria.
  • Engage in outreach efforts to initiate conversations with key stakeholders and decision-makers at target companies.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with new candidates, while maintaining existing relationships.
  • Collaborate with the M&A team to assess and prioritize leads based on strategic objectives and deal criteria.
  • Demonstrate strong people skills with the ability to engage effectively with various levels of management, team members, and potential candidates.
  • Collect and maintain accurate records of candidate information and lead generation activities in the CRM and manage a pipeline of actionable opportunities.
  • Represent BMS CAT at industry trade shows and events, networking with industry professionals and exploring potential partnership opportunities.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to inform decision-making and opportunity assessment.


Experience and Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in sales and/or prospecting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of successfully sourcing and qualifying leads within a target market.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Travel to industry trade shows and events as needed. Typically, once a month for a duration of 2 to 3 days.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or another CRM system and other relevant tools/software is preferred.
